Hi, I'm Allison.
I'm a mom of four, raising kids from young adulthood to early elementary years, and professionally I serve as an executive leader in the financial industry. But the work behind This Little Light Collective comes from something much more personal.
I created This Little Light Collective because I know what it feels like to lose your light at a young age, and to spend years trying to find it again.
When my mom passed away, I was just 13. Overnight, childhood felt over. The grief was heavy and confusing, and I was surrounded by love, but not by the language or tools to process it. It was a generation that simply didn't openly talk about emotions or grief, and I was left trying to figure out how to cope on my own.
That unprocessed grief quietly turned into anorexia, bulimia, unhealthy relationships, and years of choices rooted in one core belief: I wasn't worthy. I didn't know how to sit with pain, so I tried to control it, numb it, or outrun it.
Walking through that kind of tragedy as a child gave me a perspective many people don't have. I understand what it feels like to be lost before you even know who you are. I also know what it takes to slowly rebuild, piece by piece, your sense of worth, hope, and light.
This Little Light Collective was born from that journey.
It exists to remind girls and women that their light is still there, even when it feels dim. Over the years, I've already had the privilege of walking alongside young girls who were struggling, helping them recognize their value before they have to learn it the hard way.
If my story can help someone avoid years of self-doubt and self-destruction, and instead choose healing sooner, then every hard chapter had purpose.
Rooted in worth. Shining from within.
